Do you want to enjoy a seasonal goodie for dessert this week? We will be honest, this dessert works for any season, and is always nice to impress your guests with. You would never guess this elegant dessert was so simple to make, and filled with so many flavors! We like to think of this as a luxury dessert...let's get started!


  • 200ml grape juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 4 ripe pears, peeled, cores removed and halved


  1. Put the grape juice, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods and vanilla essence into a large pan with 300ml water.
  2. Heat gently being careful not to boil. This will only take a few minutes.
  3. Add the pears. Cover and simmer gently for 10–12 minutes or until the pears are softened slightly.
  4. Serve the pears hot with a little of the cooking liquid

*Chefs Tip: Serve with 0% fat free Greek Yogurt to cut back on calories !
