5 ways to keep positive while staying at home

While we go through tough times together, it is important to remember that there are plenty of ways to stay positive, and even improve ourselves so that we can come out better on the other side! While we may think it is impossible to stick to a similar routine to what we had before we had to stay home, there are tons of ways to adapt our old routines so that we can still keep to them! Whether your exercise routine has been affected, your meal plan, or your social life, there are plenty of alternatives to maintaining your positivity, health and happiness during these times!

What can you do to uplift yourself? While it may seem impossible to carry on with specific activities, there really are so many ways to keep yourself entertained and healthy while staying home. Are you staying active? When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins trigger a positive feeling in the body! If you are not exercising, try moving your body to release some endorphins! It really helps, and not to mention, it is oh-so satisfying to check off something you’ve completed! Smile! Did you know smiling has some major health and mood benefits? A 2010 study found that even if you’re down, making yourself smile helps improve your mood and increases positive thoughts! So, if you are having a bad day, try smiling. It may lead to something unexpected! Smiling is also known for:

  • Stress relief
  • Better relationships
  • Stronger Immune Function
